10 years ago, olympic sailor Akira Ishibashi was gathering funds to compete in the Beijing Olympics by selling T-shirts.
We recognized that many athletes must have given up on their dream from the grueling task of gathering funds.
An idea arose after watching Hanyu, a figure skater, have fans throw Winnie the Poo dolls onto the ice post-performance.
The solution we bring is to reward athletes through gifting and engagement from the fans.
Bachelor’s degree from Tokyo University. After working at Rakuten as a strategist, and leading business structural reforms, human resources, and M&A with Kidox, he worked at a strategy consulting firm then joined Accenture. He is Managing Director (products) for companies in the pharmaceutical, automobile, and FMCG industries.

He has loved martial arts since he was an elementary school student. Experienced full-contact KARATE and KENDO.
A graduate of Kyushu University. After handling HR at SoftBank, spent 17 years at Rakuten overseeing regional branches nationwide, international operations, and serving as an executive officer in the Food & Drink division.
After contributing to significant corporate growth at SoftBank and Rakuten, he began to aim for a new goal. Driven by this ambition, he founded Engate Inc., in his 40s, eager to leverage his experience and expertise to build a business from the ground up.
A soccer enthusiast since elementary school, he currently enjoys coaching a youth soccer team on the weekends and jogging along the Tama River.
He acquired network and programming skills while at university.
After that, he worked as an engineer at a foreign companies and a major domestic IT companies.
Then, he started my own business. Currently, he have four companies in Japan and one company in Vietnam.
My company is developing a business that is not confined by borders, genres or common sense.
However, he "love" soccer more than anything else, and am now trying hard to select as Japanese national soccer team of senior.
A former captain of the Japanese College National Football Team and a key player in Japan’s first World Cup victory, he led Kwansei Gakuin University to National Championship, later excelled as head coach of IBM Big Blue. He became the first Japanese to compete in North American professional football league XFL, participated in NFL Europe and attended Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ NFL training camp. His transition from athlete to academia was seamless, completed a postgraduate degree from University of Tsukuba, he quickly advanced within the university, eventually securing position of Deputy Director for University of Tsukuba’s Bureau of Physical Education. Currently serving as the inaugural Executive Officer and Head of the Global Division at Engate, where he leverages his extensive experience in sports, leadership, and education to drive international business strategies.
Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University. Master’s degrees in both Sports management and International Sports Law from the The University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and Law school of Instituto Superior de Darecho y Economia in Spain, respectively. While working for Major League Soccer and football team FC Barcelona, he also conducted overseas tours for over 150 big European clubs as a FIFA Licensed Match Agent. In the company he established, he manages overseas projects for J1 League Kashima Antlers and provides, among others, business development and marketing services to Sports Human Capital and Pacific League Marketing. During this time, he also founded the “Pacific Rim Cup” in Hawaii to actualize the potential of soccer in the Pacific Rim. He has received awards in Japan and from abroad.
After graduating from college, she worked for many years in the management of sports journalists. This allowed for a wide range of experiences, including interviewing athletes, acquisition of team sponsorships,public relations, and helping to reform the industry itself.
Throughout her years working in this field, a growing interest in the second-career of athletes formed. Establishing a management company allowed her to better develop programs for athletes to better shine throughout their whole lives.
Her volunteering efforts started in her teenage years, and has continued, without pause, since then. She currently serves as an advisor to an international volunteer support NPO, here in Tokyo.
Some of her favorite activities include muscle training, martial arts, learning about Italy, saunas and spending time with animals.
Customer support and logistics assistance with 14 years of experience working for Rakuten, Inc., Rakuten Taiwan and Rakuten China. After that, she started running the vacation rental business, which rents traditional Japanese townhouse , Kyo-Machiya, and now propose a new concept of stay to the tourists in Kyoto. She likes digging into the real data from *customers’ natural and real movements in her business.*Not shown up in official figure but unquantifiable data.
Bachelor's degree from Hosei University. After working at Rakuten as an E-commerce Consultant, she joined the Consulting Department of Revamp Corporation where she engaged in supporting new business launches in the service industry and promoted sales improvement and BPR in the retail industry. She joined Engate to create worldwide "enthusiasm."
After working at a Publisher company as an editor and Rakuten as an E-commerce Consultant, she founds a designer company in Yamagata. The company gets some awards about Urban-sports department for few years. From the experience that she cheer up her friends who is a proffesional athlete, she wants to support that younger can chase their dream, so she joined Engate.
After studying video production at a vocational school, I built my career as a front-end engineer in the web industry. I joined Engate because I wanted to be involved in the sports industry. I am good at front-end production utilizing my skills in motion graphics, and I always try to engineer from the user's perspective. My hope is to continue playing basketball as long as I can.
After graduating from university, she worked with various women's soccer teams as an athletic trainer. She used to be a player herself and is a big fan of soccer. She wanted to develop an app that would help the sports industry, especially the women's soccer world, so she joined Engate to become an engineer. As a beginner engineer, she is challenging new fields every day.
Founded the design studio monogram, Inc. in 2001, assuming the role of director. Engaged in a wide range of design projects spanning web and print media. Later, joined Engate after overseeing web service production and UI/UX design at Rakuten, Inc.
After graduating from Osaka University and entering its graduate school, joined an start-up company in Africa. She worked locally as a business manager and management planner in finance and agricultural distribution business. She joined Engate and is still living in Africa. With her experience in launching new overseas businesses and taking on all roles to promote the business, now she is in the corporate planning team at Engate. She loves to watch baseball game especially at the stadium.
Native of San Rafael, California in the United States. Graduated from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota in 2010. John has lived and worked in Japan since 2012. Professional football player for the IBM Big Blue from 2012-2023. Worked as Logistics Coordinator for GCX Corporation, a US medical device manufacturing company, from 2016-2022. Additionally, John possesses a wide variety of experience honed through years of dedicated coaching and teaching endeavors in Japan. As a member of the Engate team, he dreams to bring the Engate vision to the US and beyond!
Born and raised in United States, Philadelphia. After graduating high school, attends University of Tsukuba in Japan. During the 4 years, increased the bilingual skill set and also leaned Japanese culture to become the bridge to connect Japan and the US. Next stage will be connecting the two countries through the sports industry with Engate.
After retiring as a soccer player at the age of 26, I joined Plus Class, Inc., a web consulting company, working as an general businesses consultant. Later, I transferred to PLUSCLASS SPORTS INCUBATION Co., Ltd., led by the same representative, where I supported web marketing for sports clubs and worked on-site at a B.League club, handling a wide range of tasks including public relations, customer acquisition strategies, and sales. During this time, I managed Engate and succeeded in monetizing.
